Ordering, OEM & wholesale
Does PorroForge sell to consumers?
No. We are a B2B supplier for outdoor, hunting and birding retailers, golf shops and golf brands, gift, promotional and education buyers, distributors, e-commerce sellers and optics brands. Consumers should buy from our customers’ retail channels.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ is quoted per SKU and depends on the model, configuration, armor color, logo method, packaging and documentation. Mixed orders across categories are welcome — see wholesale and the packaging & MOQ section of our specs guide.
Can I put my own brand on the binoculars?
Yes. Pad-printed, laser-engraved or molded logos, custom armor colors, start-up screen logos on digital models, cases and retail packaging are covered in our OEM & private label program.
Are your products certified?
We do not display certification marks or publish test data on this site; optical figures are stated per model on its specification sheet. Test reports and certification documentation can be provided or arranged per order for your market. Laser rangefinders, digital night vision binoculars and children’s products have specific documentation paths confirmed per SKU and per order with the supplier and an accredited lab.
Do you supply night vision devices?
Digital night vision binoculars only (camera sensor + IR illuminator). Export-controlled image-intensifier devices (Gen 2 / Gen 3) are not offered. See night vision binoculars.
How fast do you reply to inquiries?
Typically within 24 hours on working days. Use the inquiry form.
What is the minimum order for private label optics?
MOQ is quoted per SKU and depends on how much is customized — an existing model with your logo starts lower than custom armor colors, housings or printed retail boxes.
Can you develop a new optical design?
Most programs start from existing optical designs with your configuration, armor and branding. Custom housings or optical changes are quoted per project with longer development time.
Who is responsible for the claims on our packaging?
The brand owner. We print the content your team approves and supply the specification sheets and documentation arranged for each SKU; we do not originate performance or conformity claims.
Are your laser rangefinders FDA or IEC 60825-1 compliant?
We do not claim that any rangefinder on this site meets a specific standard. A laser rangefinder is a laser product: in the US it falls under the FDA/CDRH laser product rules (21 CFR 1040.10, with laser notices and product reporting handled by the manufacturer or importer), and many other markets reference IEC 60825-1 for laser classification and labeling. For each rangefinder SKU and order, the buyer and supplier confirm the target markets, the laser class and labels, and which documents are needed — with an accredited laboratory where testing is required — before mass production. See the compliance process in our specs guide.
Are your kids binoculars CPSIA or EN 71 compliant?
We do not claim compliance for any children’s product on this site. Binoculars marketed for children are treated as children’s products or toys in many markets: in the US that typically means CPSIA requirements, a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) based on testing by a CPSC-accepted third-party lab, small-parts rules, tracking labels and, for toys, ASTM F963; in the EU and UK, the toy safety rules with the EN 71 series. Which rules apply to each SKU is confirmed by the buyer and supplier per order, with the lab, before production. See the compliance process in our specs guide.
Do you have price tiers?
Yes, pricing is tiered by quantity per SKU and confirmed on quotation. No prices are published on this site.
Do you supply schools and education programs?
Yes — through education suppliers and distributors, with classroom sets of binoculars and beginner telescopes and documentation confirmed for the market and age group.
Which markets do you serve?
This site focuses on the US market; we also quote other destinations. Tell us your market and its requirements.
How do I get a catalog?
Request it through the inquiry form with your business details.
Binoculars
Which binocular configuration should a retailer stock first?
8x42 and 10x42 roof prism models are the usual core of an outdoor, hunting or birding range, with a 10x50 Porro for value and a compact 8x25 or 10x25 for gifts and travel.
Roof or Porro — which is better?
Neither is universally better. Porro designs are simpler and cost-effective at larger apertures with good depth perception; roof designs are slimmer and easier to seal but need phase coatings and precise assembly for good contrast. Many ranges carry both.
Is BAK4 always better than BK7?
BAK4 keeps the exit pupil round and edges brighter, so it is preferred for mid and upper price points; BK7 is common and acceptable in budget and compact models. The prism glass is specified per SKU.
Can you match our armor color and put our logo on the bridge?
Yes — armor color, logo position and method, focus wheel print and packaging are standard private label options.
Do you publish field of view, close focus or waterproof ratings?
Not on this site. Field of view, close focus, eye relief, weight and any waterproof or fog-proof claim belong to a specific model and are stated on that model’s specification sheet with the quotation. If your packaging or listing makes a performance claim, it should match the documentation for that SKU — the specs guide explains what each figure means.

Night Vision Binoculars
Do you supply Gen 2 or Gen 3 night vision?
No. We supply digital night vision binoculars only — a camera sensor and display, with a built-in infrared (IR) illuminator. Image-intensifier tube devices (Gen 2 / Gen 3 and similar), which are export-controlled in many countries, are not offered, and neither are weapon-mount sights. IR illuminator eye-safety documents and the export classification of each digital model are confirmed per SKU and per order before shipment, and local rules on using night vision for hunting are the brand’s and end user’s responsibility.
What is the difference between 850 nm and 940 nm IR?
850 nm illuminators usually light the scene further but show a faint red glow; 940 nm is close to invisible to the eye but typically gives a shorter illuminated range. The wavelength is specified per model.
Can the night vision binoculars record video?
Most digital models record photos and video to a memory card; format and resolution are specified per model.
Do you sell thermal imaging devices?
Thermal imaging is not part of this program. This page covers digital (CMOS + IR) night vision binoculars only.

Bird Watching Binoculars
Is 8x42 or 10x42 better for bird watching?
8x42 gives a wider, steadier view and is easier for beginners and woodland birding; 10x42 shows more detail at distance. Many retailers stock both.
What does ED glass do?
Extra-low dispersion glass reduces color fringing (chromatic aberration), which helps on backlit birds and high-contrast edges. It is offered as an option on selected models.
Can you supply classroom sets for nature programs?
Yes — rubber-armored 8x models in sets with cases and straps. For programs aimed at children, see kids binoculars and the children’s product documentation process.
Bird Watching Binoculars overview →
Compact Binoculars
Are compact binoculars good at night?
They are mainly daylight optics. A 25 mm objective has a small exit pupil, so a full-size 8x42 or 10x50 is better at dusk and for astronomy.
Can you print a different logo for each event?
Yes, pad-printed or laser logos can change per batch; MOQ per logo is quoted per SKU.
Folding roof or reverse-Porro?
Folding roof compacts are slimmer; reverse-Porro models often give a comfortable view at a lower price. Both are available.
Kids Binoculars
What magnification is best for kids?
Low magnification with a wide view — commonly 4x to 6x for younger children and up to 8x for older kids — so they can find and follow what they are looking at.
Can you use licensed characters?
Only artwork you own or have licensed; you supply the license documents with the artwork.
Do you supply classroom sets?
Yes — sets packed per classroom or group, with labels and documentation for your market.
Monoculars
Monocular or binocular — which should I stock?
Binoculars give a more comfortable two-eyed view for long sessions; monoculars are lighter, smaller and cheaper. Many retailers stock a monocular as an add-on or travel item beside binoculars.
Do smartphone adapters fit all phones?
Clamp-style adapters fit a wide range of phones; compatibility is described per model and should be stated carefully in listings.
Rangefinders
Why do rangefinders list different maximum ranges?
Maximum range depends on the target — reflective targets range much further than game, trees or flags. Ask for range by target type on each model’s specification sheet.
What is angle compensation?
The rangefinder measures the line-of-sight distance and the angle, then shows the horizontal (or adjusted) distance for uphill and downhill shots. In golf this is called slope.
Can you put our logo on the start-up screen?
On many platforms, yes — confirmed per model on the quotation.
Rangefinders overview → · More FAQs: Golf Rangefinders
Golf Rangefinders
Are your golf rangefinders tournament legal?
We make no conformity or tournament-legality claim. Under the current Rules of Golf, using a device to measure distance is generally permitted unless the committee’s local rule says otherwise, while using a function that measures elevation changes (slope) during a competition round is not. Brands usually specify a slope on/off switch with a visible indicator, but whether a given model and its switch suit tournament play is confirmed by the brand against the current Rules of Golf and the governing bodies’ guidance before any claim is printed.
Can you make a version without slope?
Yes. Many brands carry a non-slope model beside a slope model with an external switch.
Do you supply corporate golf-event gifts?
Yes — logo-printed rangefinders in gift boxes, quoted per SKU with your event deadline.
Spotting Scopes
Angled or straight spotting scope?
Angled scopes suit tripod use, sharing and birding; straight scopes are faster to aim and work well from a vehicle window mount. Many retailers stock both.
Is a higher zoom always better?
No. At high zoom the image becomes dimmer, narrower and more sensitive to shake and heat shimmer. A larger objective, ED glass and a sturdy tripod matter more.
Can you include a phone adapter for digiscoping?
Yes — universal or model-specific smartphone adapters are common kit items.
Telescopes
Can these telescopes be used to look at the Sun?
Never without a certified solar filter that covers the front of the telescope (or finder) completely. Looking at the Sun through any telescope, binocular, eyepiece or finder without one can cause instant, permanent eye damage. We print this warning in manuals and on packaging, and we do not supply eyepiece-mounted solar filters. Where a brand wants to sell solar viewing products, the applicable standard (for example ISO 12312-2 for direct solar viewers, or the relevant standard for front-mounted filters) is confirmed by the buyer with an accredited laboratory per SKU — we make no claim here.
Refractor or reflector for a retail range?
Refractors are low maintenance and simple for beginners and gifts; reflectors give more aperture for the money for hobby buyers. Most ranges carry both.
Do you supply telescopes for schools and museums?
Yes — simple, durable models and kits, packed in sets, with documentation confirmed for the market and age group.
Telescopes overview → · More FAQs: Telescopes for Beginners
Telescopes for Beginners
What magnification should a beginner telescope advertise?
The magnifications its eyepieces actually give (focal length of the telescope ÷ focal length of the eyepiece) and a realistic upper limit. A widely used rule of thumb puts the highest useful magnification at about twice the aperture in millimeters in good conditions.
Refractor or Dobsonian for beginners?
Refractors are simple and low maintenance, good for gifts and travel; tabletop Dobsonians offer more aperture and very quick setup. Both make good first telescopes.
Telescopes for Beginners overview →
Accessories
Can accessories ship in the same order as optics?
Yes — mixed orders of optics and accessories are common, and kits can be packed under one barcode.
Do you supply solar filters?
Not eyepiece-mounted solar filters. Front-aperture solar filters or solar viewers are supplied only where the brand confirms the applicable standard with an accredited lab per SKU.

Binocular Harnesses
Strap harness or chest pack?
Strap harnesses are light and inexpensive, ideal for birding; chest packs protect binoculars from weather and brush and add pouches for a rangefinder, which hunters prefer.
Will the harness fit my binoculars?
Strap harnesses fit common strap lugs; chest packs are sized by binocular family. Send your binocular dimensions and we match the pack.
Can you bundle a harness with each binocular?
Yes — packed in the binocular box or as a kit under one barcode.
Binocular Harnesses overview →
Telescope Eyepieces
How do I calculate the magnification of an eyepiece?
Divide the telescope’s focal length by the eyepiece’s focal length — 700 mm ÷ 10 mm = 70x. A 2x Barlow doubles it.
1.25-inch or 2-inch eyepieces?
1.25″ fits most beginner and mid-range telescopes; 2″ needs a 2″ focuser and is used for wide-field eyepieces.
Can you build an eyepiece upgrade kit for our telescopes?
Yes — we match focal lengths to your telescope focal lengths and pack the kit in a branded case.

Specs & Selection Guide
Is 8x42 or 10x42 the better default?
8x42 is steadier with a wider view and a larger exit pupil; 10x42 shows more detail at distance. Most hunting and birding ranges carry both.
How can I check BAK4 vs BK7 on a sample?
Look at the exit pupil from arm’s length against a bright background: BAK4 prisms show a round, evenly lit pupil; BK7 prisms often show squared-off gray edges.
Why do laser and kids products take longer?
Laser classification and labeling, or children’s product testing and certificates, must be in place for your market before shipment.
Specs & Selection Guide overview →
